‘The Boys’ Fans, Get Ready for ‘Gen V’: The Spin-Off You’ve Been Waiting For

Fans of 'The Boys' have something to look forward to this fall, as the spin-off series 'Gen V' is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video. The show, which is based on the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, will follow a group of young superheroes who attend a college run by the nefarious Vought International. The show will explore the dark side of superhero culture, as well as the challenges and temptations that come with having superpowers.

The cast of 'Gen V' includes Lizze Broadway as Emma, a telekinetic who is the daughter of a famous superhero; Jaz Sinclair as Marie, a speedster who is Emma's best friend and roommate; Shane Paul McGhie as Hughie, a hacker who is obsessed with exposing Vought's secrets; Aimee Carrero as Annie, a pyrokinetic who is Hughie's love interest; and Maddie Phillips as Kimiko, a mysterious and mute assassin who has a connection to The Boys.

The showrunner of 'Gen V' is Craig Rosenberg, who also serves as an executive producer and writer on 'The Boys'. Rosenberg said that he wanted to create a show that was different from 'The Boys', but still had the same tone and humor. "We wanted to explore a new aspect of the superhero world, which is the young generation that is growing up with these powers and how they deal with them," he said. "We also wanted to have fun and make a show that was entertaining, thrilling, and funny, just like 'The Boys'."

'Gen V' will consist of eight episodes, each one hour long. The show will debut on Amazon Prime Video in October 2021. It will be available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Hindi. The show is rated TV-MA for violence, language, sexual content, and drug use.
